Coronavirus: Personal trainers in Portsmouth set up online classes to keep people fit in isolation

But trainers from in Portsmouth are taking to the internet to offer online bootcamps and classes in a bid to provide for their clients.
Lauren Martin, who works at Lougars Gym in Southsea, which is now closed, has set up an online bootcamp.

Hide AdLauren’s Isolation Bootcamp will be live-streamed from her home via video-calling platform Zoom and Instagram, and will include workouts for people of all ages and abilities.
She said: ‘I get up and train at 4am every day. It’s my life and I’m so used to a routine, so it’s making me feel really anxious not being able to work out.
‘Training isn’t just about fitness it’s about mental health too, so that’s why I’ve set this up because I want to help improve the mental health of my clients at this hard time.
‘It’s important to not let a bad situation affect your health and wellbeing.’

Hide AdTwo personal trainers from Portsmouth have also teamed up to offer online training.
Mark Gaizley, who runs Fit U Fitness from Jack Plummer gym in Rodney Road, Milton, has teamed up with Jade Armstrong who owns Loft 24 personal training gym in Goldsmith Avenue, Southsea.
The two have set up an online training academy, offering classes five days a week as well as additional stretches and challenges, as well as motivation, nutrition tips, mindfulness and ‘virtual hugs’ via Facebook.
Mark said: ‘We’re trying to keep the positivity up and coming up with all the ways that we’ve got around it.

George Turner runs outdoor fitness class Innovations Fitness in Emsworth and has had to halt his classes.
With the help of his training partner Emma, he is now live-streaming workouts via Facebook every morning.
George said: ‘We just want people to get into the garden and feel a bit more upbeat and a bit more positive.
‘I’m doing the best I can with what I’ve got. I have a passion for fitness and helping people.’
