Fundraiser at Portsmouth Indian restaurant raises more than £1,000 for good cause
The Curry With Elvis event at the Gandhi Restaurant in Kingston Road, Portsmouth, raised £1,400 for the Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal.
More than 65 guests enjoyed special foods away from the main menu, as well as their traditional favourites.

Hide AdIt also featured a raffle and a live performance from professional Elvis tribute artist Mike Noba, who has performed all over the world.
Gandhi restaurant owner Ruman Karim has already announced another charity fundraising event in six months’ time.
He said: ‘The Indian Gandhi restaurant would like to show support for local causes by holding regular charity fundraisers.’
The Lord Mayor’s Charity Appeal raises money for The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, NHS Trust Oncology and Haematology and Help 4 Special Children, helping to improve the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable people in Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.
Other events organised by the Lord Mayor to raise money for his charities include coffee mornings and quiz nights.
