Portsmouth university top in south east for graduates finding jobs
The figure of 96.5 per cent puts the University of Portsmouth top out of 17 institutions in the south east.
The annual Destination of Leavers in Higher Education (DLHE) survey, which measures UK higher education graduate employment outcomes, revealed an increase of 3.8 per cent from last year for the university.
Nationally, it ranked joint 21st out of 153 universities.

Hide AdProfessor Graham Galbraith, vice-chancellor of the University of Portsmouth, said: ‘The annual DLHE survey is a key performance measure which confirms a consistent positive direction of travel for the university.
‘Our improvement reflects the university’s investment in high-quality staff and our focus on career enhancing activities as an embedded part of our students’ learning.
‘We offer work placements as well as simulated “real-life” work experience across our broad range of subjects including law, engineering, architecture and dentistry.’
Elliott Ayling, from Crookhorn, is a computer games technology 2016 graduate and is now working as a graduate software engineer.

Hide AdHe said: ‘I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the University of Portsmouth, and always felt fully supported by the staff and lecturers.
‘I was particularly encouraged by my dissertation supervisor who supported me both before and after graduation.
‘He encouraged me and made it possible for me to work on real world and relevant scientific projects.’
