A3: Man left with life-threatening injuries after police called to reports of person jumping from a bridge near Purbrook

Officers were called to the A3(M) northbound between junction 4, near Purbrook and junction 5 for Farlington, after reports of a man jumping from the bridge above the road.
A man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Hide AdPolice closed the lanes to deal with the incident but, according to travel updates from Hampshire County Council, all lanes have now been reopened and traffic delays are easing.
A police spokesman said: ‘We are currently dealing with a serious incident on the A3(M) northbound between junctions 4 and 5.
‘We were called at 1.49pm to a concern for welfare after reports of a man jumping from a bridge over the A3.
‘He has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
‘His next of kin have been informed.
