Island MP Bob Seely spoke out as he welcomed the anticipated opening of more vaccine centres in Hampshire.
He said: ‘Letters to those in their 70s are now landing on doorsteps. Please don’t ring GP surgeries - they are absolutely flat out - but wait for letters or calls.

So far 85.1 per cent of the over-80s in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight has received their first dose of a vaccine.
Some 207,033 over-80s were vaccinated with a single jab, and 16.3 per cent of over-80s have received a second dose.
