Gosport pensioners bare all to support local cancer charity
Gosport Women’s Institute has put together a Calendar Girls-style calendar, doing a photoshoot in their president’s garden.
Ladies, all between 60 and 86 years old, stripped off to their underwear to produce a calendar that will raise money for Harbour Cancer Support, a Gosport-based charity that gives one-to-one support to people going through cancer treatment.
So far, the ladies have sold 175 calendars.

Hide AdWI president Elayne Kenway said: ‘Two of our members, Sue and Margaret, instigated it and we took things from there.
‘A daughter of one of our ladies took the pictures and edited them.
‘Harbour Cancer Support is a Gosport charity that gives support to anyone facing cancer, patient or family – we have several of our members who have encountered breast and other cancers.
‘We sadly lost one of our members earlier this year.’
Running through 2020, the WI calendar is available to purchase through members of the group.
‘I’m really pleased it’s gone so well’ Elayne said.
‘We may have to print some more soon.’

Hide AdEllie Corp from Harbour Cancer Support added: ‘Fundraising like this is incredibly important to help the centre to carry on providing the services that help cancer sufferers in our community.
‘We are looking forward to seeing the calendar and we would like to say a big thank you to the WI in supporting us in this way.’
The Gosport WI meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month, at Stoke Road Methodist Church from 7.30pm.
