But a number of restaurants, chains and businesses are going to continue to offer weekday discounts during September, out of their own pocket.
The Eat Out to Help Out scheme proved to be a huge success in August, with 64 million meals claimed by August 25.

Hide AdHere are the places in Portsmouth that will be continuing to offer discounts.
Meat and Barrel
The Meat and Barrel in Palmerston Road will be offering Eat Out to Help Out discounts during September.
They are offering 50 per cent off all burgers between 12-4 on Monday - Friday, and all day Tuesday.
In addition to this Meat and Barrel are offering 50 per cent off all chicken wings all day Wednesday.
The Pizza House

Hide AdThe Pizza House in Hilsea Market, London Road is continuing the Eat Out to Help Out scheme throughout September on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday.
The restaurant is also offering 2-4-1 Cocktails on Thursday, Friday & Saturday.
India Quay
This restaurant in Port Solent has extended the Eat Out to Help Out scheme for September with the walk in service on Monday through Wednesdays.
The Duke of Buckingham
This pub in High Street, Old Portsmouth, is offering 50 per cent off main meals up to the value of £10.00 discount during September.
The Guildhall Village

Hide AdThe Guildhall Village in Guildhall Walk will also be continuing to offer discounts in September, with 50 per cent off all main courses Monday to Wednesday. It's not available with any other promotion and just on the main courses - but they have also removed the £10 limit.
Wetherspoons
The pub chain will be offering discounts for customers a range of meals and drinks Monday to Wednesday, lasting until November 11.
Wetherspoons has a number of sites across the city, including The Isambard Kingdom Brunel in Guildhall Square.
Examples of the discounts include an 11in margherita pizza and a soft drink or a 6oz beefburger and chips with a soft drink, both for £3.99.
Slug and Lettuce

Hide AdThe chain will be offering 50 per cent off food and non-alcoholic drinks Monday to Wednesday during September.
Slug and Lettuce have also removed the £10 cap, meaning you can order as much food as you like.
There are Slug and Lettuce restaurants in Gunwharf Quays as well as West Street, Fareham.
Harvester
Harverster is extending the discount on Mondays through Wednesday for two weeks.

Harverster has restaurants in Eastern Road, Copnor, as well as at Port Solent and in Whiteley Way, Whiteley.
Toby Carvery
The popular carvery chain will also be continuing Eat Out to Help Out in September.
Discounts will last until September 9.
Customers will be able to get 50 per cent off food on Mondays through Wednesday.
Toby Carvery has a restaurant in Copnor Road, Hilsea.
Stonehouse Pizza and Carvery

Customers are advised to download the Stonehouse Pizza and Carvery app to take advantage of the discount.
The Barley Mow in Manor Road, Hayling Island and The Inn by the Sea in Portsmouth Road, Lee-on-the-Solent, will be offering the deal.
Bill’s
Bill’s will be offering 50 per cent off if customers dine from the set menu on Mondays to Wednesdays in September.

On its website, Bill’s says customers can choose from one course for £10, two courses for £14.50 or three courses for £18.95.
Bill’s has restaurants in North Street, Chichester, and West Quay in Southampton.
Pizza Hut
The Hut will be offering two for one on main courses on Mondays to Wednesdays from September 7 onwards.

Pizza Hut has a restaurant in Binnacle Way, Portsmouth.
Tesco Cafe
Tesco announced that its cafes would continue to offer 50 per cent off food in September, with no limits.
The Tesco Extra in Fratton Way has a cafe and it is currently open.
Hall & Woodhouse
This pub chain – which has restaurants across southern England – will be offering up to £10 discount per person throughout September at participating pubs.

Other Hampshire pubs such as The Jolly Sailor in Old Bursledon and The House Martin in New Milton are also offering the deal.
