Car owners' anger after vandal damages more than 100 vehicles
A man ran along Queen Street, Buckland, just before 8am yesterday morning, shouting in a foreign language, scratching cars with a key.
It is believed that he then ran into Copnor Road and headed north.

Hide AdSandra Voysey, of Queen Street, had her car scratched during the incident.
She said: ‘I’m very angry about it.
‘Why would someone do something like this?
‘This will cost drivers down the street hundreds of pounds. I hope they catch him quickly.’
Emma Molloy, also of Queen Street said: ‘I was so surprised when I saw the damage on the car.
‘You’d think it would have happened in the middle of the night but the fact that it happened so early in the morning means that somebody must have seen him.

Hide Ad‘Unfortunately, we didn’t hear anything, but we’re just perplexed because it was such an odd thing for somebody to do.’
Police officers conducted house-to-house enquiries yesterday and left letters on damaged vehicles, asking for owners to contact them.
Another resident of Queen Street, who did not wish to be named said: ‘I’ve lived on this street for 20 years and cars have always been keyed.
‘It’s because cars park so close to one another down here.’
Her views were shared by another resident who said that damage to cars was a ‘consistent problem’ along the street.

Hide AdThe resident, who did not wish to be named said: ‘It is absolutely ridiculous.
‘Something really needs to be done about it.’
