Hampshire police launch murder inquiry into death of woman
A MURDER investigation has been launched into the death of a pensioner.
The two people who died in Shanklin on Monday (June 20) have been named as Jean Irwin, 83, and John Irwin, 77.
Police cordoned off a home in Shanklin, on the Isle of Wight, after finding two bodies.

Hide AdA post mortem examination of Mrs Irwin found death was from neck compression, while Mr Irwin died from ligature suspension.
A statement from Hampshire Police said: ‘Jean’s death is being treated as murder and John’s death is being treated as non-suspicious.
‘We’re not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.’
