Police arrest man, 27, from Havant following assault in Fratton churchyard

Officers have arrested a 27-year-old man from Havant on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He has been released from custody, but remains under investigation.

Hide AdIt comes after a woman in her 50s was the victim of an unprovoked assaulted at St Mary’s Church in Fratton at around 3am on July 14.
She sustained facial injuries, but she did not require hospital treatment.
A spokesman from Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘We would like to thank the public for their support, and continue to ask you to read the appeals, look at the e-fit we have circulated, and provide any information you have to us.
‘In the meantime, officers continue to carry out enquiries in the area after dark.’

Hide AdThe man was described as white, very slim, aged in his late 20s or early 30s, with dark curly hair at ear length, a pale complexion, and wide dark eyes.
He was wearing a light-coloured top, round glasses, and he had a rucksack on his back.
