Third man arrested in attempted murder probe in Portsmouth
Police investigating the assault of a 20-year-old man from Birmingham, have arrested a 22-year-old man from Portsmouth.
The victim was savagely assaulted shortly before midnight in Middle Street, Southsea, on Saturday, February 17.

Hide AdHe stumbled into the King’s Tavern pub covered in blood, where staff working at the boozer gave him first aid, before the wounded male was taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital.
The latest arrest was made yesterday. The suspect has been released from custody but will remain under investigation, police said.
Detective Inspector David West said: ‘I would like to reassure the community that we’re continuing with our investigation to try to establish exactly what happened in this incident.
‘If you have any information about what happened, or if you saw anything suspicious in the area, we’d like to hear from you.’

Hide AdThe second person arrested, a 22-year-old man from London, also remains under investigation.
The first man arrested, a 21-year-old man from London, was released with no further action.
