Tributes paid to man who was found dead behind Cosham library as police deem death 'not suspicious'

Officers were called to Cosham Library yesterday (July 3) at 7.17am after the body of a man was discovered.
Forensic officers taped off the area around the Portsmouth City Council-owned building on Spur Road and combed it for evidence while detectives spoke to residents living nearby.

Hide AdA Hampshire Constabulary spokesman told The News: ‘We were called at 7.17am on July 3 following a report of the body of a man found at the rear of Cosham Library.
‘The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.'
Readers of The News have also paid tribute to the man, who has not yet been named.
Andrea Ann Stanton wrote: ‘Rest In Peace - thinking of the family.’

Yesterday councillor Steve Pitt, deputy leader of the authority and the city’s culture and leisure chief, said it was ‘tragic to hear that someone has lost their life.’
Jonathan Parker, of Tudor Crescent, was shopping in Cosham High Street yesterday.
