Warsash drink-drive arrest as car smashes through garden wall outside house

Firefighters had to cut free a passenger from the car after the incident in Warsash.
Emergency services, including police and fire crews from stations in Fareham and High Town, attended the incident in Warsash Road at 3.33am.

Hide AdWhile the driver and a front seat passenger, both men believed to be in their 20s, were able to walk free from the crash, a female passenger, also believed to be in her 20s, needed rescuing from the wrecked Vauxhall Corsa.
Firefighters worked quickly with specialist cutting equipment to free the injured woman, said crew manager Richard Mount from Fareham fire station.
He said: ‘We used cutting equipment and saws to remove the female passenger in the rear of the vehicle.
‘They were handed to the ambulance service and taken to hospital.
‘The wall was removed and the car was a write-off.
‘We were on the scene for about an hour and a half.’

Hide AdThe rescued passenger was not seriously injured, according to a a tweet from the Hampshires Roads Policing account.
It added: ‘Driver arrested for drink driving after his vehicle left the road and collided with a garden wall in Warsash.
‘Thankfully his passengers weren’t seriously injured.’
