Hide AdPolice are trying to identify and disrupt those responsible, and are encouraging the public to continually report incidents. Waterlooville North Police Sergeant Matthew Painter said: ‘We fully appreciate the impact that this type of crime has on our local businesses and residents who use the town centre.
‘Everyone should be able to go about their day-to-day life without having to encounter this type of behaviour. I would like to reassure local residents that we are doing everything we can to tackle this issue.’
Sgt Painter said officers conducted a ‘dedicated day of action’. During patrols, 15 people – aged between 12 and 19 – believed to be involved in anti-social behaviour were stopped and questioned by officers.
Parents of those aged under 17 were sent cease and desist letters. One 17-year-old boy was issued a community resolution.
