High winds topple scaffolding in Portsmouth
The metalwork toppled into Dundas Lane, Copnor, just before 7pm tonight.
Debris was left strewn across the street and pathway opposite the EE Glass Ltd building, where the scaffolding had been erected.

Hide AdNobody was injured in the collapse and police have diversions in place at the Dundas Lane roundabout.
Two crews from Southsea fire station’s White Watch were called to the scene to take down the remainder of the metalwork, which was dangling dangerously above a footpath.
Firefighters used an aerial ladder platform to inspect the damaged scaffolding before attaching ropes to it and lowering to the ground.
The road is expected to remain closed until about 10pm while the debris is safely moved away.
