Irene pipes up a storm from Portsmouth
The piper from Poole left from Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard on Sunday, January 10.
She hopes to cover seven continents in 50 days in aid of The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and Julia’s House.

Hide AdThe 57-year-old forensic health practitioner will play the bagpipes at iconic locations including New York’s Radio City Music Hall, San Francisco’s Alcatraz, Antarctica’s Port Lockroy, amongst others, finishing in London’s HMS Belfast on February 27.
Irene said: ‘I’ve made this challenge as big as I can because I want to raise £50,000 for two charities that are close to my heart.
‘The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity make every mile count to support serving and former members and their families.
‘I’m proud to be a member of The Royal Navy Pipe Band Association and because of this, I see first-hand the brilliant work they do.
