Hide AdCllr Woodward, who is a chartered biologist by profession, said he was delighted to meet the girls at the Burridge Village Hall.
He said: ‘The girls were all very interested. They asked me a lot of questions both about science, since I have been in the industry for a long time, and my activity as councillor.
‘It was really important for them to listen and talk about science and science technologies as it may give them inspiration for their future career.
‘Indeed, they found it very interesting and they were excited to receive science investigator badges and a projector ‘.

Hide AdEmma Stevens, the unit leader, said that the projector will enable them to expand the range of activities they do.
She said: ‘As a Brownie and Rainbow Unit with around 30 members we try to carry out a wide range of activities with the girls.
‘The projector will help us to demonstrate the activities we do in a more effective way and it will provide an additional means of entertainment at longer events.
‘For this reason, it is our intention to loan the projector to other girlguiding units in the local area so that they could also benefit.’
