Food and clothing bank of Family Church Gosport receives major boost with £5,000 grant provided by Lidl Community Fund

Caring Hands, part of the Gosport-based Family Church, received the major boost of £5,000 from the Lidl Community Fund.
Claire Louise Comrie, community worker and operations manager at Family Church, said the donation has made a huge difference to the charity and hundreds of people in needed in the local area.

Hide AdShe said: ‘Without the donation from Lidl’s Community Fund, we wouldn’t be able to continue with the work we’ve been doing at our food and clothing banks.
‘Not only has it enabled us to provide those in need with essential food, clothing and supplies, but also made our long-term expansion goals realistic.’

Vast improvements have been made to the charity’s kitchen, allowing for them to renovate and reallocate kitchen equipment into a larger building.
The clothing bank mainly supports disadvantaged families with children between infancy and 16.
Ms Comrie added demand has increased due to the cost of living crisis.
