Marwell Zoo: Hampshire wildlife centre reopens after 'a tornado' tore through attraction car park

Over the weekend, CCTV footage captured a twister tearing through the zoo, damaging trees and parked cars.
Because of this, the zoo – near Winchester – closed to anyone who didn’t already have a booking, while staff worked around the clock to clear the debris.

Hide AdA zoo spokeswoman said: ‘Thankfully, the wind was highly localised, and the rest of the zoo was undamaged. Both the zoo’s animals and staff are also safe.’
Posting on Facebook, the zoo has confirmed that it has completely reopened today.
‘After great efforts and teamwork from our staff, our car park has now been cleared following the destructive high winds yesterday,’ they said.
‘We are delighted to be resuming regular operations and can't wait to see you this half-term.’
According to the Marwell website, the wallaby walk through has been closed temporarily for essential repairs.
