Hide AdMr Mak is taking up the vacancy left by Leo Docherty who has taken former veterans minister Johnny Mercer’s position. Mr Mercer was sacked and blasted the ‘distrustful, awful environment’ of the government.
Mr Mak said: ‘I’m delighted to be appointed as a minister by the prime minister, and I look forward to helping deliver the government’s policy agenda in Westminster.
‘My work as Havant constituency MP is unchanged, and I will remain active in our community, continue helping local residents and carry on organising my community events.’
The Havant MP has previously spoken out against ‘unjustified’ historic complaints about service personnel, an issue Mr Mercer cared deeply about.
