The News' EU hustings debate at 1000 Lakeside draws nearer
The News has teamed up with Verisona Law to put on an EU hustings to enable the public to get across their views on how the vote should go on June 23 and what a decision either way would mean for the UK and those who live and work here.
A panel of experts and political enthusiasts supporting both the Leave and Remain camps will lead the debate, being held at 1000 Lakeside North Harbour, off Western Road, Portsmouth.

Hide AdThen the audience will be given the chance to ask them questions about the referendum, and what the EU really is all about.
And all the key issues will likely crop up, including the economy, immigration, national security, education, trade and the rising threat of terrorism.
Editor of The News Mark Waldron said: ‘We’re hoping to have a healthy debate looking at all the subjects that will have an impact on how people will vote on June 23.’
The debate takes place in the heart of the Portsmouth North constituency, represented by MP Penny Mordaunt, a strong supporter of the campaign to leave the EU. Portsmouth City Council was also the first administration in the country to vote in support of leaving the EU.

Hide AdThough there are strong voices in the city in support of the message to remain a member.
The hustings will take place in the atrium of the Lakeside building.
Guests are being asked to arrive for 6.30pm, for a 6.45pm start.

Hide AdMeanwhile, if you’re registered to vote in the EU referendum, but cannot vote in person on the day, you can apply for a postal vote.
The deadline is 5pm tomorrow. Or you could appoint a proxy – someone you trust to vote on your behalf.
Proxy vote applications must be received by 5pm on Wednesday, June 15, but you and your proxy must have already registered to vote.

Representing the Remain campaign will be; Cllr John Ferrett, Portsmouth Labour group leader, University of Portsmouth lecturer Graham Heaney, and Kevin Briscoe, of Briscoe French public relations agency. On the Leave side are; Cllr Donna Jones, council leader, William Hynett, of Britten Norman, and Ian Brown, of IMS Industrial.
