Royal Navy keeps a watchful gaze over America's Cup in Portsmouth
Frigate HMS Kent is today anchored in the Solent as the guardship for the race.
Patrol ship HMS Severn will also be in the Solent alongside two of the navy’s P2000 patrol ships, HMS Blazer and HMS Ranger, who will also act as race marshals .

Hide AdRoyal Marine Sergeant Darran Donovan will take charge of a landing craft, operated by 1 Assault Group Royal Marines, to deliver the prestigious silver America’s Cup and VIPs from Portsmouth Naval Base to Southsea this morning.
On top of this, the naval base is also providing a secure lock-up for boats racing in the international competition.
