Thermometers rose to 15C at lunchtime with weathermen saying that the warm weather would last through the afternoon.
But the Met Office said that although it will be dry and clear this evening, temperatures will fall quickly to give a chilly night across the region with cloud pushing eastward, with some thicker patches reaching the west by dawn. Minimum Temperature 3C.
