M27 set for reduction of lanes for three weeks
and live on Freeview channel 276
The measure is being introduced to ensure workers comply with Covid-19 restrictions, allowing them to work on the smart motorway project safely both night and day.
The reduced motorway stretch will begin at 9pm tonight.
Restrictions will be lifted on May 25 at 6am.
A Highways England statement said: ‘We apologise in advance as moving the safety barrier to reduce the lanes on each carriageway will need to be undertaken overnight for safety reasons.
