Hide AdAll crews were stood down by the coastguard and the owner will now have to recover the vehicle.
On the Facebook page, Portsmouth Lifeboat Station, the crew said: ‘Portsmouth Lifeboat Crew requested to assemble at 9.32am to reports of a Land Rover in the water.
‘Once the crew had assembled at the station, Portsmouth Coastguard Rescue Team had deployed two members of the team to inspect the vehicle.
‘Once established that no one was in the vehicle, Solent Coastguard then stood our crew down.’

Hide AdThe coastguard rescue team posted: ‘Team paged with Hayling CRT to a report of a Land Rover in the water by Eastney outfall. The crew of Portsmouth Lifeboat Station were also stood by to launch if required.
‘Rescue officers located the vehicle and deployed two officers in water rescue PPE to check for occupants and any sign of fuel or oil leaks.
‘As the check was completed the owners arrived on scene and provided further information.
‘With the tide rising and the vehicle confirmed as secure through use of a winch wire rescue assets were stood down from the scene, with the owner planning a recovery later today.’
