Rain and strong winds batter Hampshire for third consecutive weekend

While the north of the country looks set to bear the brunt of the stormy conditions the Met Office is forecasting periods of heavy rain and strong winds for Portsmouth until at least Tuesday. Today will see winds of up to 42mph with heavy rain moving in overnight.
Wind speeds are expected to peak in and around Portsmouth on Sunday morning with gusts in excess of 50mph. Monday will see further rain with winds once again in excess of 40mph.
