Carlos’ work has been hailed by critics as some of the most emotionally compelling acoustic work – Classical Guitar Magazine UK said: ‘He is one of the great communicators of the guitar world.’
Head of guitar Arne Brattland said: ‘Carlos seemed to have attracted an unusual amount of participants, and he quickly proved to be fair, friendly, witty and instructive in his comments to all the players, who included the whole range of standards from almost beginner to advanced.’
Arne Brattland also commented that the performers and performances at this stage of the event was some of the most varied that the Portsmouth Music Festival has seen this year.

Carlos also found time for a few informal mini-masterclasses with some players.
‘All in all, it was a very successful day for everyone involved.’
