So when he mentioned to his customers that he was determined to lose weight, they didn't believe him.Â

Hide AdOne man, who was sure he would keep his money, decided to donate £1 every time Sam lost a stone. Many customers decided to follow suit. In past diets, he blamed his wife Winnie for piling up his plate.
'˜She would tell me to leave what I didn't want,' said Sam, '˜but how could I resist?'
But Winnie helped this time by replacing his 12-inch wide plate with a normal one.Â
