Clanfield’s cup tie abandoned after skipper Will Martin suffers broken leg against Denmead
Clanfield skipper Will Martin was stretchered off with a broken leg in the 59th minute of his side’s final L4 Teamwear Challenge Cup group tie at Front Lawn.
‘It was probably the right call to abandon it,’ said Clanfield boss Lee Blakely.

‘It was just what I would call a good old-fashioned 50-50 challenge and unfortunately Will’s come off worse.’
The tie, which stood at 2-2 at the time, will be replayed tomorrow at Front Lawn (8.15pm).
Whoever wins will progress to the knockout stages and a last-16 trip to north Hampshire to face Silchester next Saturday.

Clanfield led 2-0 at the weekend through Koko and a Dylan Riches penalty.
But Denmead hit back to level before half-time.
‘It looked as if it was going to be a real thriller,’ said Blakely.
‘It was a bit frustrating for us - we were in control but we seem to have 15-minute periods when we panic and let teams back in.’
