Hide AdAnd Jackett lauded his troops’ resolve as Pompey claimed all three points against their modern-day rivals.
The Blues boss said: ‘Halfway through the second period the game changed and Plymouth put a lot of pressure on us.
‘We did very well to defend our box with a number of long ball and throws into our box.
‘We defended resolutely to hold on to our one-goal lead.
‘We certainly earned it and I’m pleased with my team as they showed both sides of the game to get the victory.’
