And the boss is adamant fringe players can force their way into his plans if they catch the eye.Â
Jackett said: '˜They definitely can (winning a starting spot).
'˜Number one is the observation of first-team games.
'˜But training and reserve games are always a good source of seeing what type of competition you currently have for the players who have the first-team shirt.'Â
Jack Whatmough (hamstring) and Anton Walkes (groin) could be handed outings for the reserves against Oxford following their return from injury.
