Luton 1 Pompey 3: Gaffer For A Day
What did you make of that?
I was fearing the worst after nine minutes when they were 1-0 up through Danny Hylton and then he had another ruled out for offside.
If we had gone 2-0 down at Kenilworth Road I am not sure we would have been able to come back.

I don’t think anyone could disagree that we fully deserved to win that match.
Who was your man of the match?
It has to be Enda Stevens. If he wasn’t present on the pitch we would have been in a lot of trouble.
For the first couple of minutes their right winger looked very dangerous but Enda soon put an end to that.

Hide AdHe was always an outlet, always ready to receive the ball and attack down the left, the midfield regularly had a player to pass to.
I was a little worried at one stage when, clearly on his final warning, I thought he could have been in trouble.
Paul Cook was right to keep on him on, though. Stevens has a sensible head.
What did you make of Michael Smith’s return to the side?
He ran the line really well – and I don’t think we would have won if Noel Hunt had been there instead.

Hide AdHis goal was absolutely superb, a drop of the shoulder and he tucked it into the far corner.
There was a mixed reaction to him among supporters at first but once that went in they got on side.
However, in the final 10 minutes there were harsh shouts from some that he wasn’t pulling his weight.
I said before I wanted him to start and he vindicated Cook’s selection.
What next for Pompey?

Hide AdIt was a massive win and can now propel them up the league table.
That has to be one of our best performances this season, especially against a good footballing side in Luton. It was superb.
I think we will get promoted – as long as Enda stays fit!
