Pompey brought the curtain up on their third-tier campaign with a goalless draw against Shrewsbury on Saturday.
Kenny Jackett made one signing in the week before the game, with Callum Johnson arriving from Accrington for a fee of around £200,000 with add-ons.
But the Blues’ rivals also strengthened before the league season started – and will continue to do so before the transfer window shuts on October 16.
