Hide AdStill, it represented a welcome three points as Jackett’s men bounced back from Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Fleetwood.
And Pompey’s boss felt it was thoroughly deserved on the basis of goal-scoring threat.
Jackett said: ‘We are delighted with the win and it was an attacking game, both sides set out to create chances.
‘But I thought overall we had more and I’m pleased to say our finishing was good enough and clinical enough.

Hide Ad‘The three goals did reflect what we did going forward and played a major part in winning the game.
‘It was a very open game, both sides went for it, and, as the home side, we wanted to go forward and create chances, so three goals is good.
‘At Fleetwood we didn’t quite have our usual energy, it was a little bit of a flat performance, not one with a bad attitude at all.
‘Then we made five changes to the starting XI and that gave us a little bit of freshness and some energy.’
