The 19-year-old joined Kenny Jackett's side for their pre-season training camp at Five Lakes Resort in Essex last week.
Pompey's player development manager, Mark Kelly, believes Teggart has the attributes to forge a good career for himself.

Hide AdBut now the Northern Ireland youth international needs to 'hone in' on certain areas of his game.
Kelly said: ‘Eoin has shown a bit of promise, playing in the Leasing.com Trophy last season.
‘It's now time for him to get his head down. He's quick, he's vibrant, got pace and can deliver a good ball into the box.
‘Now he just needs to hone in on the understanding of the game and the real emphasis around that.
‘That's going to be the real key for him this season.

Hide Ad‘He's got to get on top of that to kick on and has a lot of work to do, but there are certainly signs there he has the attributes you can really develop. He'll have to hone in on that.’
Teggart's primarily been confined to academy football since arriving on the south coast.
And along with featuring for the reserves in the upcoming season, Pompey will seek to get him out on loan to enhance his development.
Kelly added: ‘Eoin hasn't really had that opportunity to play senior football, so that will be part of the pathway for him.
‘That's the next step for him on a personal level, but we will manage that with the reserve games we put on and what level we can get him out at.’
