Andy, 50, made the engagement official three weeks before the wedding with the surprise flash mob at Brasserie Blanc in Gunwharf Quays, featuring young dancers from a school run by choreographer Sarah Hume.
April, 50, says: ‘I thought we were having a drink with all the family, and then Andy said he was going to the toilet. All of a sudden the restaurant exploded into life. I thought “This is really cool – do they always do this?”, not realising they were all around me! Then Andy came out and got down on one knee.’
April and Andy exchanged vows at John Pounds Memorial Church in Old Portsmouth, before their reception at the Marriott Hotel.

Their first dance was to Someone Like You by Van Morrison because the lyrics ‘fit into our lives’, says April.
‘We’re not children any more. What we’ve experienced apart has made us stronger together.’
The reception was a double celebration, as Andy turned 50 at midnight.

During their honeymoon trip to New York, April had the chance to track down Bruno and Mark and tell them about the engagement – but the city’s department stores were too tempting.
‘I was too busy shopping to find them!,’ she says.
